As a result, Sarplast GRP products are particularly suitable for applications in aggressive environments (like salt water, high PH and hot mineral water) and for medium to deep wells.
CASINGS
Sarplast GRP Casings are custom built. They are designed and manufactured to meet each individual well requirement and Engineering specification.
The range of dimensions and characteristics is wide. They can be produced in any diameter from 2 inches up to 50 inches. Standard lengths are 6 and 12 meters. Customized lengths up to 12 meters are available on request.
It should be noted that GRP Casings have Outer Diameter and Inner Diameter slightly different from steel Casings of the same nominal size.
GRP casings are particularly suengble for aggressive environments (salt water, high PH and hot mineral water) thanks to its complete corrosion resistance and for medium and deep wells thanks to its excellent mechanical properties. Our GRP Casings can be installed up to 2000 meters of depth.
On the outer layer of the casings a special sand coating can be applied, upon request, to improve the bonding of the cement to the external surface of the casings.
The joint is a Bell and Spigot with Double O-ring Lock Joint. This joining system is very easy and can reduce installation time up to 50%.
PIPE BASE V-SHAPED SCREENS
Sarplast GRP pipe base screens represent an innovative solution for the water wells field.
They are similar to steel continuous slot screens and couple the advantages of GRP products (corrosion resistance, easy handling and low weight) with the advantages of continuous slots screens (no-clogging and high open area).
The fiberglass pipe base screen is made of a perforated pipe, which assures optimal mechanical properties, and an external screen jacket with smooth and tapered slots which assures the desired filtering properties. The slot sizes can be between 0.5 mm and 2.0 mm and can give high open areas.
The trapezoidal slots have been designed to avoid any possible blockage of the screen. It is important to remark that the GRP surface, thanks to the smooth finish (on microscope scale) and to the absence of any corrosion phenomena, does not allow the formation of incrustation. Therefore only a very limited reduction of open area will occur during the entire service life of the screen.
As for the casings, these screens are custom made to give the desired Collapse Resistance.
CUT SLOT SCREENS
Cut Slot Screens represent a more economical solution and are suengble for shallow and medium depth applications. The slots in these screens are obtained by cutting with a saw directly the pipe wall.
Compared to PVC filters, they have a much lower wall thickness and therefore less clogging problems.
The number and dimensions of the slots can vary with pipe diameter and clients' needs. The slot size can vary between 1 mm and 3.5 mm. In any case they assure at least a minimum open area of 10%.
As for the casings, these screens are custom made to give the desired Collapse Resistance.
RISERS
These pipes have been designed and manufactured to withstand high axial loads and torsional forces. The bell and spigot joint, provided with a specific design to prevent rotation, is ideal to be assembled and dismantled many times to allow the maintenance of the pump (without any deterioration of its ability to seal and carry axial and torsional loads). This solution is very efficient compared to the flanged and threaded joints.
